Back on Snow
What an amazing start to Winter 2014.
June had most of us worried, with more green grass around than snow- But July has delivered! The snow depth in Perisher is around 2m! The conditions are the best I have seen in a long time.
I have been doing a little bit of skiing, but ultimatley at this time of the year I am in 'Preparation phase'- So I am in the gym alot! Its been a really good few weeks of strength, balance and interval training, but for the next two weeks my focus turns back to my skiing.
We are lucky to have the Suzuki Australia/New Zealand Cup Ski cross event in just over a weeks time at Hotham resort in Victoria. This is always a really fun event and a great oppertunity for other athletes to give Ski Cross a go!
Before the Race, I will be coaching at the Ski and Snowboard Australia 'Futures' Ski Cross Camp in Hotham. If you are aged between 12 and 20, come along for two days of Ski Cross specific training- Such as jumping, Starting and Head to Head Racing! I will be there with my coach Shawn and my team mate Anton Grimus. If you want to find out more, CLICK HERE.
Happy Skiing and I hope to see you on the slopes!
Sami :)
